A RARE LONGQUAN 'GUAN' CELADON HEXAGONAL VASE,
SOU THERN SONG DYNASTY, 12TH-3TH CENTURY.

DESCRIPTION:
An extremely rare Longquan xikou kiln celadon glazed hexagonal vase.
This vase is shaped in hexagonal body, circle mouth, slender neck, drum belly, drum horns, square feet.
The fetus is fit, tight and sturdy, full body, full of shrimp glaze inside and outside, deep glaze, fine enamel finish, bright glaze.
Local visible vitrification, there is a irregular ice crack, visible opening gap was white oblique sheet. Dark brown carcass can be seen on the exposed side of the foot, showing the characteristic of "purple iron foot".
The Zhejiang Provincial Museum has similar other varieties of the Xikou Kiln of Longquan in the Southern Song Dynasty.
